Info for Guest Artists

Booth Rental

Guest Booth

Guest booth rental is $300 per week. We ask for a $100 deposit. Venmo @ironinktattoosmi​

• Booth is furnished and has an optional privacy screen. Everything for set up and supplies are included, but these exceptions:
  • inks
  • machines
  • needles (all of our resident artists use bar needles, we do not have cartridges in our stock room)
• We have a clean room that includes a dry heat sterilizer.
• You are welcome to bring equipment/supplies that you prefer.
• Please tell us your glove size so we can make sure to have them in stock​. ​

• Michigan does not license individuals, only the facility. We will not need proof of your licensure. We will need proof of blood born pathogens training - you can do that when you get here, it takes about 15 minutes online.
• We will need a copy of your certificate of liability insurance (or proof of insurance). No insurance? We will sign a liability waiver instead.

Booking Appointments

• Please work within our shop hours:
  • Tuesday - Saturday 10am - 6pm
  • We are typically at the shop by 9am and out of the shop by 7pm
• Clients book directly with you, please have booking instructions on your social media.
• We recommend booking in advance. Our shop is known for booking by appointment, so we don't get frequent walk-ins. ​
• We recommend taking deposits at time of booking.
• We require that you give a price quote at time of booking. We like to communicate clearly so that clients know what to expect. If you would like to know our artists' current hourly rates, please message us. ​
• You will process your client payments.​
• We will advertise for you a month in advance, if you are selling flash, please send a picture around that time.
• No minors, regardless of parental consent.
• Client can bring 1 guest in booth

• if you need to cancel your appointments, you are responsible for contacting your clients asap. Please return their deposits within a few days.

• We partner with locally owned Airbnbs that offer discounts to Iron Ink guest artists, see that list here. Message the host to let them know you are an Iron Ink guest.

Our building is a 1930s church that we renovated in summer 2021. Bruce ran a private studio for six years until he took on his first apprentice that same summer in 2021. 
Our goal is to have a high quality, art-focused, and inclusive shop and to be a destination for guest artists. 
Health, safety, and client experience are our priority. We take a lot of pride in the reputation we've built in our community.
